Our fine arts program is a destination for every Whitefield Academy student on their way to graduation. Intentional training in these disciplines is not merely “extra.” It serves to better prepare our students to see and understand the beauty of God’s creation and to express their own ideas in creative ways.
“Clear Communication” is one of the three core goals we have for our graduates. The visual arts help train our students to communicate with expression and flair.
Grammar school students explore a variety of artistic media and styles, emphasizing the elements of art:
Upper school students have opportunities to take advanced classes in drawing, painting, ceramics and other media, where they will hone their skills and exercise their creativity with new freedom. Select upper school works are displayed in the annual art show in the Crossroads Art District of Kansas City.
Each year the Spring Art Show is held at Whitefield, in conjunction with our Shakespeare production, with every student’s best work on display.
