 History of Whitefield Academy

Whitefield Academy began as Whitefield Christian School in 1995 with just over sixty students. Started by a group of friends looking for an effective method to educate their children in a way that serves the Lord and produces academic excellence, Whitefield Academy has since grown to be the premiere classical Christian school in the Kansas City metro area serving 280 students and their families.

We decided to use the historically validated classical method which seeks to work alongside the natural development of a child’s mind through three developmental phases: Grammar, Logic, and Rhetoric. We incorporated the additional key components of a Classical education – Music, Athletics and Fine Arts.

Our objective became to teach students how to think, rather than what to think.
